Announcement: festival date is October 4, 2003
yee	The Hawai'i Pacific Islands Kava Festival at Lyon Arboretum will be held in the fall of 2003, centered between 9am-4pm. More details to follow. Earlier it was announced that Nov. 15 would be the event's date, however, in deference to the volunteer help and UH home football games, the committee has decided to advance the date. We are now looking at October 4 and 18 as a possible dates. A decision will be made by May 7, 2003, and announced in this forum by May 8, 2003. By committee consensus, the event's ending has been extended to 4 p.m., as noted 7/28/03.
yee	Although the group discussed Oct. 4 and 18 as perhaps being reasonably equal, the three events of Oct. 18, New Products Show, Artfest, and Keiki Hula appear overiding. In addition, Jerry Konanui would be able to make the Oct. 4 date. As agreed, therefore, The official date for the Hawai'i Pacific Islands Kava Festival is Saturday, October 4, 2003.
