| arginin | Does anybody know cultivar of kiwifruit named Boscop?I have bought the plant with this name, but I cannot find any specific information about this one, for example toleration to frost, size of fruits etc. If you know, please send any news to my email adress. Thank you for your help. |
| yee | I've never seen Hawai'i grown kiwi. Here on O'ahu we don't have the chilling of 45 deg. F, but perhaps on Haleakala (Maui) or Waimea (HI) it'd be chilly enough for some of those varieties... The closest I've come to kiwi-like tasting fruit grown in Hawai'i is the Dragon Fruit. I guess if you're in a frost-free area poha might be an alternative crop. From what I recall of a CTAHR bulletin, it's suppose to do well at the higher elevations (cooler) of 1500'-4000'. I'll be picking some next week in Honomu. Mahalo, Jonathan |
