Klaus Dragull, University of Hawaii, speaks on his recent research, "Kava Safety: Differences in Bioactivites and Distribution of Kavalactones and Alkaloids May Explain Purposes of Some Traditional Practices." Klaus also mentions a technique he's discovered to discern one alkaloid from a kavalactone. One use is that this clears the way for better identification of what may be in a kava sample.
