sands of time,
Mahalo for sharing your experiences and viewpoint on kava. To me the 'awa nene (Hawaiian kava cultivar) would be excellent for sleeping. In fact, I had some last night during and after a performance as a orchestra pit musician in a community theater musical ("Gypsy"). Mostly though I have been a 'awa mo'i drinker as it appears quicker acting.
At the kava festival in Honolulu, we hope to obtain a good consensus about all the Hawaiian kava varieties through written surveys and discussions. Better understanding of kava varieties especially from our customers' viewpoint I believe is critical to further development of the Hawaiian kava industry. From there a clearer picture should arrive, and hopefully posted on the forum. I think it always very interesting to learn from what other users outside of our industry in Hawai'i have to say.
Perhaps if you or others have specific questions we may be able to include them in the paper questionaire.
Aloha,
Jonathan
